Hair Is Falling, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Kuchh Kariye - Music Review

Hair Is Falling (2011)
Music: Arpan, Sumit

1. Dilli Ke Deewane ------------------------------------ 7/10
A pretty good attempt at rap music in Bollywood. What makes it just a 'pretty good' attempt and not a good attempt is that the awesome rap is padded with instrumentals and extra vocals that take the tempo out of the rap. But the rap itself is hugely impressive. Do listen to this bold track.

2. Na Samajhana ------------------------------------------ 7/10
If you have liked Ali Zafar before, you are bound to love this one for it's catchy tune and foot-tapping beats. Ali Zafar lends his pop angle to this album, with only one pet peeve: The song never seems to achieve a climactic quotient, when we are led to believe that it will come at some point of the song. Otherwise, a good song.

Final verdict: A good and sincere attempt to create a great album for this almost unknown movie. A lot of effort has been put to create entertaining music. Other tracks that are not so great reflect that. Listen to 1 and 2, chances are high you may like them.

Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011)
Music: Clinton Cerejo, Hitesh Sonik,  Luv Ranjan, Ad Boys

1. Life Sahi Hai ------------------------------------------------- 7/10
When KK and Vishal Dadlani (plus two more) come together, there is high chance the track would be hip, happening and upbeat. This is exactly what it is. A decent rock track that evokes in us the longing for a happy-go-lucky days of college. Something you would want to croon, when you get the blues.

Brownie points:
  • Koi Aa Raha Paas Hai (Revisited) - Sonu Nigam fans will love this. The opening is pretty catchy, and although the song proceeds about a little slow, it leads to a great climax. A typical Sonu Nigam track. On a funny note, the original of this track sung by Suraj Jagan makes him sing out of his normal style, which is rock, doesn't sound great making Sonu Nigam stand out even more
  • Baanwre - An intriguing rock and grunge by Clinton Cerejo. He makes sure he gets the necessary elements in his song, so he wouldn't go unnoticed. If you loved, Bandagi from Hostel, or Jaana Hai from Dum Maaro Dum, this one is for you. Yet another impressive grunge track from Bollywood off late.

Kuchh Kariye (2010)
Music: Onkar, Sumitra Iyer

If you are into Punjabi music, this album would be for you. Not that this is hardcore folk music, but the musical style has a thick folk theme, stylized to the Bollywood palate. This is a be-all, see-all Sukhwinder Singh album. Definitely not for the mainstream Bollywood fans.
